When accuracy and expert analysis matter

Orthopedic and spine record review. Built for litigation.

Spine, joint, fracture, and soft-tissue injury cases are what we read. However large the record, NaviCase delivers a clear chronological summary, prepared by a clinician and directed by a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon, through a secure, HIPAA-supported portal.

For IME physicians, law firms, and insurance adjusters, on plaintiff, defense, workers' compensation, and orthopedic malpractice matters alike.

Our difference · when accuracy and expert analysis matter

Orthopedic and spine cases,
read by clinicians who know them

Most injury litigation is musculoskeletal: a neck or back after a collision, a shoulder or knee after a fall, a fracture that did not heal as expected, a spine surgery that did not deliver. NaviCase reviews those records and not much else. Every summary is created and reviewed by a nurse practitioner, physician assistant, or physician based in North America and in active clinical practice, and the company is founded and directed by a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon. Your case is never left to software alone and never sent offshore.

The foundation

Every page read

Nothing is skimmed or sampled. Every visit, study, and note in the record is read and woven into one medical chronology by a clinician who understands what the chart says. Every accessible, readable page in the confirmed record set is reviewed.

One specialty, read well

Radiculopathy, disc herniation, rotator cuff tears, meniscal injury, fractures, fusions, and arthroplasty are the daily vocabulary here. A reviewer who reads these charts every week finds the prior complaint and the imaging discrepancy that a generalist reads past.

Opinions on your terms

The record is reviewed objectively and focused on the questions your side needs answered. When the matter calls for expert opinions, our top tier delivers them from a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon.

Secure by default

Encrypted portal intake, MFA on every account, audit-logged uploads and downloads, BAAs where required. Records never move by email, in either direction.

Technology, in its place

AI-assisted. Clinician-verified.

We use AI-based tools and we're open about it. Organizing thousands of pages is work software does well. What software can't do is write the summary or stand behind it. Every summary is created, verified, and edited by the practicing clinician responsible for your case and read against the actual PDFs to ensure every pertinent clinical detail is captured. Eyes on the records, every time. AI makes the work faster. The clinician makes it right.

The process

From upload to work product
in four steps

Step 01

Register your practice or firm

Tell us who you are, whether that's a physician practice, a law firm, or a carrier, and who needs logins. Your secure workspace is ready the same business day. Already registered? Just log in.

Step 02

Upload the records

Drag PDFs of any size into your secure upload request. Most cases are counted and priced the same business day: total pages times your rate. No quote step, no surprises.

Step 03

Pay & we review

One click by saved card or ACH and review begins with a committed completion date. Records are organized and summarized by a clinician who works in orthopedic and spine care.

Step 04

Download the summary

You're notified the moment the summary is complete, and it's already in your portal, paid and released. File it, forward it, or hand it to your expert. No invoice to chase, in either direction.

Who we serve

Clinicians. Counsel. Carriers.

Three professions, one shared problem: the answers to an orthopedic or spine claim are somewhere in a few thousand pages of medical records, and nobody has the hours to find them.

IME & expert physicians

Orthopedic, spine, and physiatry examiners: walk into the examination already knowing the record. Prior complaints to the same body part, treatment gaps, and imaging results are pulled into one chronology before your review clock starts, so your time goes to the exam and the opinion, not to sorting a few thousand pages of PDFs.

Law firms

Plaintiff or defense, the complete treatment story on a spine, joint, or fracture claim for demands, discovery, and depositions, with prior conditions, treatment gaps, and inconsistencies surfaced from the full record rather than the other side's excerpts. When the opposing orthopedic expert is on the calendar, a deposition guide turns the record into lines of questioning.

Insurers & adjusters

For examining physicians

Outsource the reading, not your credibility

When you hand off a record review, your name still goes on the report. The work has to meet the standard you would hold your own review to. That is the standard here. Every record is read in full and weighed with the critical eye of a practicing clinician, then assembled into a single chronology. Prior complaints involving the same body part are traced back through the chart. Treatment gaps and imaging findings are flagged where they occur. The hours you used to spend sorting and summarizing go to the examination and the analysis instead. Your practice takes on more cases without more nights at the desk.

Your report has to survive cross-examination, and so does your preparation. Every accessible page is read and accounted for. Nothing is sampled and nothing is skipped. You get an organized map of the complete record, and your own review time goes where your judgment says it matters. Turnaround is committed against your examination date. The finished summary is a clean PDF you can work from during the exam and cite while you write.

Record Summary gets you the chronology; Summary + Analysis adds the flagged findings most examiners want in hand before the exam. And when you would rather hand off the whole build, IME Report Prep turns your dictation and the raw records into your report on your own template, complete except the conclusions, at $0.50 a page.

The services

Objective on the record.
Focused on your case.

The Record Summary and Summary + Analysis tiers report the record objectively, because a summary only holds up if it can be defended page by page. Your side still shapes the work: tell us at intake whether the matter is plaintiff, defense, workers' comp, or malpractice, and the review is focused on the questions your file turns on, with those answers easy to find.

When the case calls for more, Expert Medical-Legal Review adds the opinion of a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon on causation, permanency, disability, and future care, under a separate physician engagement quoted per case from our medical-legal fee schedule.
